Cotton!

Why, why, why does it have to hurt so much?

When I knit with non-mercerized cotton (like I am now), it's like ropes in my hands. It's hard to work with and it burns.

When I work with mercerized cotton, it's like fiberglass in my hands. It's hard to work with and it burns.

Yet I LOVE the look of cotton.

Why? Why must cotton torment me so? Yoo yoo. Yoo yoo.*

(*That's the Korean noise for crying. Its letter actually looks like tears. ㅠㅠ Love it. See the tears running down the closed eyes?)

Cotton can sometimes be hurty. I like mercerized better, but the most improvement I've found in knitting it? a)slightly flexible needles b)knit loosely c) loosen up your grip generally d)don't knit while stressed!

This can be hard if you are a tight knitter, I know. I has really helped me to remember this stuff. If your needles have no give, and the cotton has no give or elasticity? Then your hands are going to hurt if they offer no give. Sad but true...
